Press Release Summary: MCSDI-1 Portable Media Converter converts SD or HD Analog Component HDMI signals to SDI for cost-effective live video production
Press Release Body: Amsterdam, The Netherlands, September 8, 2007 - IBC Booth 9.441 -- Focus Enhancements Inc (NASDAQ: FCSE), a worldwide leader in media management and Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, introduced the MCSDI-1 Portable Media Converter at IBC 2007 (stand 9.441) at the Amsterdam RAI. The MCSDI-1 is a cost-effective solution for professionals who need to source professional HD-SDI equipment from camcorders featuring an HDMI uncompressed output. The MCSDI-1, along with Focus' industry-leading HD workflow, will be on display at IBC from September 7-11.
The MCSDI-1 converts HD analog, SD analog, or digital HDMI input signals to HD-SDI or SD-SDI output - all in a portable package that can be easily mounted on the bottom of a camcorder for handheld or tripod use. Fully digital and uncompressed, SDI has become the production format for high end broadcast and live video productions. "The MCSDI-1 lowers the costs of live video production, by providing a high quality HDMI-to-HD-SDI conversion," said Robert Caldeira, senior product manager for Focus Enhancements. "MCSDI-1 converters combined with a Focus HX series HD Switcher provides unprecedented price performance for multi-camera productions."
Additional MCSDI-1 features include: . 2-channel embedded digital audio . Auto-sensing of signal inputs . Video mute color bar output for equipment setup . User-selectable audio levels . NTSC/PAL . DC power input (as low as 7.2VDC).
The MCSDI-1 is expected to be available in mid-September through authorized Focus Enhancements dealers at a US MSRP of $699. For more information, please visit www.focusinfo.com.
